Key Largo (1948)

An embittered war veteran travels to Key Largo, Florida, to meet the wife of his deceased war buddy. Arriving at a tumbledown hotel managed by the woman's father-in-law, the man discovers that the establishment has been taken over by an exiled gangster, his alcoholic girlfriend, and what's left of his mob.

Claire Trevor won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Key Largo. Jay Silverheels gained fame in the 50s as Tonto on The Lone Ranger.
