James Paul McCartney was born June 18, 1942 at Walton Hospital in Liverpool, England, where his mother had worked as a nurse. Walton Hospital is in the northern part of Liverpool not far from Paul's teen-age home at 20 Forthlin Road.
Fire in Pinckneyville, Illinois
A major fire on the square in downtown Pinckneyville caused the death of one firefighter and destroyed the Kuntz Opera House and the adjoining Pinckneyville Antique Mall on Friday, June 17, 2011. The opera house was built in 1896 and was a fixture in downtown Pinckneyville for generations. Both buildings collapsed during the fire.
