The song reached the #1 position on Billboard's Hot Country Singles on October 19, 2002, and remained at #1 for six weeks and spending 41 weeks on that chart. It also reached #23 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. In 2009, Somebody Like You was named by Billboard as the Number One single of the first decade of the 21st century.
